Statutory scope & bookkeeping cost estimator

Move the figures to see which Finnish statutory obligations your company falls under, when they fall due, and an indicative fee range for the work. It is not a quotation and not a forecast of tax.

v1.0.0
€420 000

Net sales for the financial year. Drives the VAT period and one of the three audit thresholds.

€180 000

Total assets at the year end. One of the three audit thresholds.

45 / month

Incoming invoices and receipts to be recorded each month.

30 / month

VAT period

Monthly VAT period

Arvonlisäverolaki 1501/1993 (AVL), incl. §3 and §162a-b — returns due by the 12th of the second month after each month.

Statutory audit

An auditor must be elected

3 of the three thresholds are exceeded in each of the two most recent financial years, so an auditor must be elected.

Tilintarkastuslaki 1141/2015, 2 luku 2 §. An auditor may be left unelected only if at most ONE of the three thresholds was exceeded in each of the two most recent completed financial years.

Size class

Laki tulotietojärjestelmästä 53/2018 — earnings payment report within 5 calendar days of the payment date; employer's separate report by the 5th of the following month.

Audit thresholds exceeded

3 / 3

  • Balance sheet total over EUR 100 000
  • Turnover over EUR 200 000
  • More than 3 employees on average
  • This is an indicative scope estimate. It is not a quotation, an offer, or tax advice.
  • Fee ranges reflect ordinary bookkeeping-bureau rates for the volumes entered. An engagement is priced only in a written agreement.
  • Statutory conclusions follow the sources cited beside each result and depend on the figures entered being accurate and complete.
  • No result on this page is a forecast of tax payable, tax saved, or any other financial outcome.

What we do

Four pillars of statutory financial management

Each engagement is scoped in writing before it starts, so you know which filings we take responsibility for and which stay with you.

Corporate bookkeeping and monthly financial statements

Double-entry bookkeeping kept current, with a monthly result you can actually act on.

  • Monthly income statement and balance sheet
  • Reconciled purchase and sales ledgers
  • Fixed-asset register and depreciation schedule
What this includes

Corporate tax compliance and planning

Returns filed correctly and on time, and the tax consequences of a decision explained before you take it.

  • Corporate income tax return prepared and filed
  • VAT returns for your statutory VAT period
  • Prepayment review when results change during the year
What this includes

Audit support and internal control review

The material your appointed auditor asks for, prepared before they ask for it.

  • Audit file with reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Responses prepared for auditor queries
  • Internal control review of the finance process
What this includes

Payroll administration and financial reporting advisory

Payroll run, reported to the Incomes Register on time, and figures management can read.

  • Payroll run and payslips on your pay cycle
  • Earnings payment reports within the statutory 5 days
  • Employer's separate report by the 5th of the following month
What this includes

A note on the word “audit”. Statutory audit (tilintarkastus) under the Finnish Auditing Act 1141/2015 may only be performed by an authorised HT, KHT or JHT auditor. We are not an audit firm and we do not issue audit opinions. What we provide is audit support: the reconciliations, schedules and working papers an auditor you appoint will ask for, and a review of the controls behind them.

How an engagement runs

Predictable, documented, and traceable to the statute

Bookkeeping goes wrong quietly. The way to prevent that is to make every obligation and every deadline explicit from the first month.

01

Scope agreed in writing

We go through your books, your filing history and your financial year, then set out exactly which returns and filings we take on and which stay with you.

02

Monthly rhythm

Documents in by an agreed date, ledgers reconciled, VAT filed for your statutory period, and a monthly income statement and balance sheet you can actually read.

03

Year end without surprises

Financial statements within four months of your year end, the corporate tax return filed, and the statements with the Trade Register inside the statutory eight months.

04

Advice when a decision is coming

Before a dividend, an investment, a new employee or a cross-border sale, you get the tax and reporting consequences in writing, with the assumptions stated.

Straight answers

Questions we are asked before the first meeting

If the answer to one of these matters to your decision, it is better read now than discovered later.

Do you carry out statutory audits?

No. Under the Finnish Auditing Act (1141/2015) a statutory audit may only be performed by an authorised HT, KHT or JHT auditor, and we are not an audit firm. We provide audit support: the reconciliations, schedules and working papers your appointed auditor will require, and a review of the internal controls behind them.

How do I know which VAT period applies to my company?

It follows from turnover under the VAT Act (1501/1993). Up to €30,000 a calendar-year period is available, up to €100,000 a quarterly period, and above that the period is monthly. The estimator on this page computes it from your own figures.

When must my company elect an auditor?

When at least two of three thresholds — a balance sheet total over €100,000, turnover over €200,000, or more than three employees on average — were exceeded in each of the two most recent financial years. Meeting them in one year alone is not enough.

Can you take over from our current bookkeeper mid-year?

Yes. We review and import the ledgers you already have, reconcile the opening position and confirm in writing which filings are still due for the current financial year before we start.

Do you work with private individuals?

No. Services are provided to businesses, associations and other organisations. We do not offer consumer credit, lending, debt relief or investment services.
